How to Create a Digital Product

How to Create a Digital Product

Digital products are intangible goods delivered electronically, including ebooks, digital music, and digital art. They require no physical inventory and can be easily distributed to a global audience. This article guides you through the essential steps to develop your digital product within the platform, ensuring you understand the best practices for maximizing its appeal and effectiveness.

To get started, navigate to the Payments section and select Products within your account. Here you can either choose an existing product or create a new one.

Note: Digital product delivery is exclusively available for orders made through eCommerce stores, so it is essential to enable the Store option in the Product Information section.

If creating a new product, fill out the relevant fields according to the product requirements, such as assigning a title, defining its price and tax structure, and configuring variants if required. The steps to create a digital product vary depending on whether the products have variants. Follow the steps below that align with your specific product structure.

Products Without Variants #

From the Pricing section, select the name of the pricing option you wish to modify. Scroll to the Shipping and Delivery settings, then select Digital Product and upload the file you wish to sell. Verify the name of the selected file, then click Save to retain your changes.

Products With Variants #

For products with variants, navigate to the Variants section within the Product editor and select the specific variant you wish to modify. Upload the files you intend to include with your digital product by selecting them from your device. Once uploaded, review the file names to ensure they are correct, then click Save to confirm and store the changes to your digital product settings.

After configuring all product details, activate the Enable Order Confirmation Email feature in Payments > Settings > Notifications to facilitate email delivery of digital products. If this setting is not enabled, customers will only be able to download their products directly from the Checkout Page.

By carefully following each setup step and enabling essential notifications, you guarantee that digital products are accessible and easy for customers to retrieve.

Important Notes #

  • Different variants of either Physical or Digital products can be created. For example, if selling books, variants such as Ebook, Audiobook, or Physical Book can be established.
  • Up to 10 files can be uploaded, with each file limited to a maximum size of 100 MB. If additional files are needed, a ZIP file under 100 MB can be created for upload. Supported file types include images, audio, video, documents, and ZIP files. Remember to save your changes after uploading the files.
