How to Fulfill an E-Commerce Store Order

Congratulations! You set up your e-commerce store and made your first sale. However, your journey is not over yet. Now it’s time to send the client their product and fulfill the order.

Since you’ll be making lots of sales, keeping track of them can become complicated, but your CRM has your back. You can track all orders that have been placed, along with their details and status, in one place. By fulfilling orders inside the system, you keep the details easily accessible to you and your customers.

How to Fulfill an Order #

  • Head over to the Orders tab inside the Payments section. Here you’ll see all orders that have been placed.
  • Click the three dots icon to open View Order, where you’ll find all the relevant order information.
  • Click Fulfill Items. This opens a pop-up for you to add the fulfillment information.
  • Fill out the tracking number, carrier, and tracking link.
  • Optionally toggle Notify Customer to send an email to the client with their order information.
  • Click Save to mark the order as Fulfilled inside the system.

Partial Fulfillment #

Whenever you encounter an order for which you don’t have all items in stock, you can do a Partial Fulfillment. This helps retain customer satisfaction by not delaying the whole package for a missing piece, instead sending what you have in stock and following up later with the rest.

In Fulfill Items, choose the quantity of each item that needs to be fulfilled, then follow the rest of the steps above. These orders are marked as Partially Fulfilled, which lets you access the order details and fulfill the remainder. On the order details page, items that have been partially fulfilled have their details listed. Click Fulfill Items to complete the order; the items already sent are subtracted from the list.

Why Should You Use This? #

This feature helps you keep track of the status of your orders and the stock you have. You can use it to upsell related products or collect feedback from customers. Overall, tracking order fulfillment ensures you don’t over- or understock, your clients are happy with their service, and you have control over the next steps to market to your audience.
