Coupon Code Expired Trigger

Once a coupon expires, it is time to do some housekeeping, making sure to remove or renew them, update offer listings, and decide on your next steps. It is easy to miss the expiry date as you go about your daily responsibilities, so workflows can make it easier.

Setting the Trigger #

To start, navigate to the Workflows tab inside the Automation section and create a new workflow.

Click the plus sign icon to add a trigger and select Coupon Code Expired.

Adding Filters #

To limit which events trigger the workflow even further, click the + Add Filter button. The main filters for this trigger are:

  • Coupon Code: Limit the workflow to only specific coupon codes. Select an operator, then select the codes you want to trigger or exclude.
  • Coupon Name: Limit the workflow to coupons with a specific name, regardless of the code. Select an operator and add the coupon names you desire.
  • Coupon Type: Define the discount type, whether it applies to a percentage or net amount, and to which orders the coupon applies.

Once you are satisfied with your selections, click Save Trigger to establish your changes.

Once you have finished with your workflow, you can test it or simply publish it. Now it will take care of those expired coupons for you.
