Using a new platform is fun and exciting. However, when you have already built communities and posts, it’s scary to lose that progress. So, let’s check how to migrate your Skool Communities into the CRM and ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Navigate to the Community Groups tab inside the Memberships section and click “+ Create Group” or access one of your already created groups.
Inside your Group, click Settings to access your group options.
Switch to the Import tab.
Enter your group details, then click Confirm. These will be your Skool URL, the email ID of your Skool, and your Skool password.
Once completed, click Confirm to initiate the import.
The system will generate a .CSV file that includes:
- profileSlug
- firstName
- lastName
- email (may be missing for some members)
Download the CSV, fill in any missing email addresses, then click Select File and upload your updated CSV. The system will automatically import valid members and display a count of successful and failed imports. Once member import is successful, the system will prompt you to import community posts, helping you easily migrate existing communities and content to your system.
Frequently Asked Questions #
Can I retry importing failed members? #
Yes. Just fix the CSV and click Try Again.
What happens if I change the profile slug? #
The system uses the profile slug to identify members, so changing it can disrupt the import and cause issues with subsequent imports.
Are posts imported for members that were not successfully added? #
No. Posts are tied to member IDs, so only those successfully imported will have their posts brought over.
Where do I start the Skool import? #
Go to the Community Groups tab in the Memberships section, open or create a group, click Settings, and switch to the Import tab.
What credentials do I need to import from Skool? #
You need your Skool URL, the email ID associated with your Skool account, and your Skool password.
Why might some members fail to import? #
Members can fail to import if required data such as a valid email address is missing from the CSV; you can add the missing details and re-upload to retry.
