Documents & Contracts templates help you easily manage agreements with customers and put them in writing. Inside the system, they also provide space for your team members to fill out their information as needed. If you’re looking for a way to make this process smoother, workflows might be your best ally. Here’s how to use them to fill Dynamic Sender fields.
Creating Your Template #
- Navigate to the Documents & Contracts Templates tab inside Payments, and click New to open the template editor.
- Add a Signature or any other fillable field.
- Set the “To be signed by” as “Sender.”
- Save the template to continue with the process.
Setting Your Workflow #
- Create or edit a workflow inside the Automations section.
- Once inside the workflow builder, add the action “Send Documents & Contracts.”
- Select the “From User” (this controls email sending credentials).
- Choose the template you created with Sender fields in it.
Note: The system identifies whether the template has those fields.
Under Assign Sender Fields To, select either “From User” if the signer should be the workflow sender, or “Template Owner” if the signer should be the user who last updated the template.
Save your action, then save and publish the workflow to complete the configuration. This is especially useful for sales teams, onboarding workflows, and multi-user businesses where ownership changes but the document remains unchanged.
