Coupon Codes for Subscription Services

Coupon codes for subscription products allow businesses to extend discount benefits to subscription-based offerings, providing added value to customers on ongoing services while attracting and retaining more subscribers by simplifying access to promotions. This guide walks you through the process of creating and applying coupons for subscription products so you can efficiently set up and manage your promotional campaigns.

Creating a Subscription Product #

Navigate to the Products tab in the Payments section and click the product you wish to update, or opt to create a new subscription product.

In the Pricing section, ensure that the Recurring Payment type is selected and configured according to your product needs. Configure each section to suit your requirements, then save the product.

Creating a Coupon #

Next, head to the Coupons tab and click +Create Coupon. Alternatively, click the 3 dots associated with an active coupon to edit it.

Complete the required fields, including the coupon name, code, and start date, and then define the limitations by selecting or deselecting the relevant options at the bottom.

Ensure that you enable the option to apply the coupon to recurring payments so that the discount will be automatically applied each billing period, eliminating the need for manual intervention and ensuring consistent savings for your customers.

Select the duration of the discount. If selecting Multiple Months, enter the total number of months for which you want the coupon to be applicable. Furthermore, you can limit the coupon to a specific subscription product by enabling the option and selecting the product from the dropdown.

Once satisfied with each setting, click Create to finalize your coupon.

Applying a Coupon to an Order Form #

With your product and coupon now created, head to the funnel you wish to update and add the subscription product to the specific funnel step from the Products tab.

Return to the Funnel Step Overview to add an order form to the step. Toggle the Enable Coupon Codes option and save the funnel. For detailed steps on how to apply a coupon to an order form, please refer to the “How to Create and Use a Coupon/Promo Code in a Two-Step Order Form” article.

Viewing Applied Coupons #

To see the coupon in action, select the Orders tab from the Payments navigation menu after an order has been placed. Click on the three dots next to the relevant order and then View Order. The order details will display the applied coupon.

Additionally, you can access the Subscriptions tab and click on the three dots next to the relevant subscription, then View Subscription to see the coupon in the subscription details.

By following these steps, you can effectively create and apply coupon codes to your subscription products, helping you enhance customer satisfaction, boost subscriptions, and streamline your promotional campaigns.
