Terms and Conditions Element

Terms and Conditions Element

This guide will walk you through the process of adding and customizing the Terms and Conditions (T&C) element to your forms and surveys. You’ll learn how to add the T&C element, format the text, add hyperlinks, and customize the design to match your branding. Additionally, you’ll discover how to implement opt-in options for different types of messages and ensure a seamless user experience. By the end of this guide, you’ll have a fully functional and user-friendly T&C section that meets your needs.

How It Works #

Begin by dragging and dropping the Terms and Conditions element from the left-hand sidebar.

General Settings #

Next, select the Terms and Conditions element to access its settings.

Entering and Formatting the Text #

The Terms and Conditions field will be prominently displayed, offering various formatting options, including the ability to apply header or paragraph styles, as well as text enhancements such as bold, italics, or strikethrough. Additionally, alignment controls are available for further customization.

When customizing your Terms and Conditions’ appearance, you can use the device toggle in the sidebar to switch between Desktop and Mobile layouts.

You can also add hyperlinks to redirect users to a site with more comprehensive terms and conditions. To do so, highlight the text you want to hyperlink. Then, select the three-dotted button and click on the Top Link icon. Insert the URL in the pop-up, and click Confirm. Remove a link by clicking on the Lower Link icon.

To ensure clearer consent and improve user experience, consider adding distinct opt-in options for Transactional and Promotional messages:

  • Transactional Messages: Users can explicitly opt in to receive essential notifications, such as appointment reminders, order confirmations, and account updates.
  • Promotional Messages: A separate opt-in can be provided for marketing communications, including special offers, allowing users to select the type of messages they wish to receive.

Query Key #

Update or copy the query key that can be used as a URL parameter to populate this field. For further details, refer to the “How to Use URL Parameters to Pre-fill Form Fields” article.

Color #

  • Text Color: Locate the Text Color option in the builder. Choose a color that complements your overall design.
  • Link Colors: Use the Link Color option to select the ideal color for your links. Match your links to your design palette for a harmonious and user-friendly interface.

Finally, choose whether the field should be mandatory (recommended) or not.

By leveraging these features, you can enhance the compliance of your forms and surveys, creating a seamless and user-friendly experience for users.

Important Notes #

When adding the Phone element, both Transactional and Promotional Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) will be automatically included.

For standalone T&C additions, you have the flexibility to choose which terms to display. This provides greater customization and ensures that the appropriate consent options are presented to users.

You can add multiple T&C fields if necessary, helping you accommodate multiple policies (e.g., privacy, data use, marketing) and complex consent requirements.
