There are two ways to grant us access to your WordPress site. The recommended option is to add us as a user. If you prefer a faster approach, you may also share your existing admin credentials.
Option 1 (Recommended): Add CORE CONNECT as a New WordPress User #
This method keeps your account secure and gives you full control to revoke access at any time.
Step 1: Log in to WordPress
Visit your WordPress admin area by going to:
yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
Log in using your existing administrator account.
Step 2: Navigate to Users
From the left-hand menu, click “Users,” then select “Add New.”
Step 3: Create a New User
Fill out the required fields:
• Username: coreconnect (or another name you prefer)
• Email Address: stephen@coreconnect.com
• First Name / Last Name: CORE CONNECT
• Password: click “Generate Password” or set one manually
Make sure you save or securely share the password with us.
Step 4: Assign the Correct Role
Set the role to “Administrator.”
This ensures we can fully support updates, security, plugins, SEO, and performance.
Step 5: Send Confirmation
Once the user is added, notify us that access has been granted and share the login details securely (password manager, encrypted email, or client portal).
You can remove or change this access at any time by returning to Users → All Users.
Option 2: Share Your Existing Admin Login (Fastest Option) #
If you prefer not to create a new user, you may share an existing administrator login.
What to Send:
• WordPress admin URL (example: yourwebsite.com/wp-admin)
• Username
• Password
Security Best Practices:
• Only share credentials through a secure method (password manager, encrypted message, or client portal).
• Avoid sending passwords in plain text email when possible.
• If desired, you may change your password after work is completed.
Which Option Should You Choose?
If you want maximum security and control, choose Option 1.
If you want the fastest setup with minimal steps, Option 2 is acceptable.
