The CRM offers the capability to add sales to an affiliate manually. This feature is particularly useful in two scenarios:
- Online Sales Without Affiliate Attribution: When a sale is made online but the affiliate link is not used, and you wish to attribute this sale to a specific affiliate.
- Offline Sales: When a sale is made offline, and you need to record and attribute it to an affiliate for accurate commission tracking and record-keeping.
This article will take you through the steps to account for these sales to ensure that your affiliates are rightly rewarded.
How to Add Manual Sales #
Locate the sale that was not attributed to an affiliate in the Transactions section of your account. If the sale was made offline, create a manual invoice in the Invoices & Estimates section. This is essential for bookkeeping purposes.
Enter the details of the sale, including the client’s name, item description, amount, and record the payment.
Then, navigate to the Affiliate Manager and find the affiliate to whom you want to attribute the sale.
If you have selected an inactive affiliate, mark them as active from their associated actions menu.
Once active, you will see the option to add manual sales. Go ahead and click it.
A pop-up will open for you to select the customer based on their name or email. Once selected, set the campaign the sale belongs to, then click next.
Now, you will be prompted to choose the transactions to be recorded under the affiliate. You can see an overview of when the transaction was made, as well as its source, to confirm it before completing the process.
Note: Manual sales can also be added from the affiliate highlights, accessible after clicking their name from the main page.
Whenever a commission is added manually, the product will show as “Manual Commission” in the Affiliate Highlights view.
By leveraging the manual sales feature, you can ensure every affiliate is credited accurately, whether the sale happened online without proper tracking or entirely offline. This not only maintains fair commission payouts but also keeps your records complete and transparent for both you and your affiliates.
