WhatsApp Media Action

WhatsApp Media Action

The WhatsApp Media Action is designed to elevate your communication strategy by automatically sending rich media — images, videos, documents, and audio — directly through WhatsApp, streamlining your processes and enhancing engagement with ease.

How It Works #

To get started, click the “+” icon to add a Workflow action, and select WhatsApp Media.

Note: You can only send WhatsApp media when the 24-hour customer service window is open, so it is advisable to add the “WhatsApp: Customer Service Window Check” action before this step.

Action Name #

Assign a more descriptive name to the workflow or use the default name based on your preferences.

From Number #

Choose the number from which the message should be sent. This number will be visible to all the recipients of the message.

Media Type #

Select whether the media is an audio, video, image, or document from the media type dropdown.

Media #

Click the Add Attachment button to upload the media, following these requirements:

  • Images: JPEG or PNG formats, up to 5 MB
  • Videos: MP4 or 3GP formats, up to 16 MB (must use H.264 video codec and AAC audio codec)
  • Audio: AAC, AMR, MP3, M4A, or OGG (OPUS) formats, up to 16 MB
  • Documents: TXT, PDF, DOC/X, PPT/X, or XLS/X formats, up to 100 MB

Note: Attempting to send files exceeding these size or format limitations will result in an error returned by the WhatsApp API.

Caption #

Finally, enter a caption to accompany your media, then click Save to add the action to your workflow.

Note: Captions are not supported for audio files due to a WhatsApp API limitation. Any text entered in the caption field will be ignored when Audio is selected as the media type.

That’s all there is to it! Be sure to publish and save your workflow to start sending media to your customers, increasing engagement and customer satisfaction right away!

Configure the fields, click Save to add the action, then publish and save your workflow to begin sending media.
