How to Setup your Whitelabel Domain

How to Setup your Whitelabel Domain

Customizing your web app’s branding is an essential step in making it uniquely yours. By doing this, your customers will see your branding when they log into the platform. It’s a great way to create a professional and cohesive experience for your users. Here’s a simple guide to white-label your web app in just four easy steps.

DNS Provider Setup #

Open a new tab in your web browser and navigate to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap) or your DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare, Google Domains). These are typically the same unless you’ve changed your DNS provider. Once logged in, proceed to your DNS settings.

Create a CNAME Record #

Create a CNAME (Canonical Name) record at your DNS provider and point it to whitelabel.ludicrous.cloud. This step links your custom domain to the platform. Example for GoDaddy:

  • Host Name: You can use any name you prefer, like "app," "CRM," or "portal." "App" is the most common choice and is recommended.
  • Points To: the platform servers

Whitelabel Login URL Example: If you choose "app" as the Host Name, your login URL will look like app.myawesomedomain.com.

Ensure you save your changes. It may take some time for the DNS settings to propagate.

Configure Your Agency Account #

Log into your Agency account and navigate to Settings from the left-hand menu.

Add Your Branding #

Go to the "Company" section under the "Whitelabel" tab. Drag and drop your agency’s logo in the "Logo" field.

In the "Whitelabel Domain" field, paste the custom domain name you set in your DNS settings (e.g., app.myawesomedomain.com).

Don’t forget to update your agency’s Policies in the "Terms & Conditions URL" field by providing the full URL to your Terms & Conditions page, which should resemble this format: https://myawesomedomain.com/terms.

Once your DNS settings have propagated (this can take a few minutes to an hour), your customized web app will be accessible via the new domain. For example: Go to https://app.myawesomedomain.com to see your unique login screen featuring your logo, terms, and branding.

Note: If you’ve already set up your white-label domain and wish to switch it to run on whitelabel.ludicrous.cloud, you’ll need to delete the existing domain in the Whitelabel Domain field by clicking the trash icon. After that, click Update Company to save the changes. Then, re-enter your sub-domain in the Whitelabel Domain field and save again.

Branding your web app makes it truly yours, giving your customers a polished and professional experience. With these quick steps, you’ll have a unique, fully customized portal that stands out.
