The Send SMS workflow action allows you to send automated text messages to your contacts when a workflow is triggered. Whether you’re sharing updates, confirmations, or promotional messages, this action streamlines communication and ensures your customers receive timely information.
Setting Up the Send SMS Action #
To get started, click on the “+” icon in your workflow builder to add a new action, then select “Send SMS” from the list.
Templates #
If you would like to use an SMS template that you’ve created previously, click on the Templates dropdown and choose the template you would like to use, or search for the template name in the search bar.
Message #
If you’re not using a template, type your SMS directly into the Message box. If you need some help writing your message, click “Write with AI.” This will open a module where you must select a tone, enter your prompt, and generate your message.
Make any necessary changes to your message, and when you’re ready, click “Use Message” to add it to your workflow builder.
Custom Values & Trigger Links #
Personalize the SMS using Custom Values such as the contact’s name or event details. You can also add trigger links to direct recipients to a funnel, webpage, or other destination.
Add Attachment #
If you would like to add an attachment, such as a file or image, you can do so by clicking the “Add attachment” button and selecting the file or image you would like to include.
Add Files Through the URL #
Additionally, you can add a file through URL by inputting the URL into the field and then clicking on the “+Add” button to add the file.
Test Phone Number #
Before saving your action, test the SMS by entering a demo phone number and clicking Send Test SMS. Make sure to use a real phone number to review how the message appears on a mobile device. When you’re satisfied, click Save Action to finalize.
SMS Statistics #
When your workflow is live and customers have run through the workflow, you will then be able to see the statistics of SMS messages sent to contacts.
- Delivered: The number of SMS messages delivered to contacts is seen here.
- Clicked: This shows the number of contacts that clicked on the SMS message.
- Failed: You can see the number of SMS messages that failed to deliver to contacts.
- View Details: Click on “view details” to see the full details of each statistic.
Additionally, you can access the “Stats View” by clicking the pie-chart icon. This will give you an overview of the stats from the last 30 days.
