The Stale Opportunities trigger is activated only for opportunities that are older than a specific duration of time. Users can customize the timeframe for an opportunity to be considered stale and define certain actions to be taken as a result.
When no filters are selected, the workflow automatically activates for all opportunities in the open stage in any pipeline.
To get started, click Add New Trigger and select Stale Opportunities.
Note: Once the workflow is triggered, it runs daily at 8:00 am.
Adding Filters #
You can further filter your trigger by clicking on Add Filters. Your standard field options here are Assigned To, Doesn’t Have Tag, Duration in days, Has Tag, In Pipeline, Lead Value, Lost Reason, and Status.
Assigned To #
Assigned To triggers the workflow when an opportunity card assigned to a specific user exceeds its set timeframe and is marked as stale.
Doesn’t Have Tag #
By selecting the Doesn’t Have Tag filter, the workflow will activate only when an opportunity card in the Open status of a pipeline has exceeded its set timeframe and does not have a specific tag.
Duration of Days #
The Duration of Days filter is used to identify and trigger workflows for stale opportunities. This filter only activates the workflow when the set timeframe for an opportunity card has been exceeded, labeling the opportunity card as stale.
Has Tag #
By selecting the Has Tag filter, the workflow will only trigger when an opportunity card in the Open status of a pipeline has a specific tag and has exceeded its set timeframe.
In Pipeline #
The In Pipeline filter is an option to automate workflows when an opportunity card in a specific pipeline exceeds its set timeframe and is marked as stale. However, this filter only triggers workflows for opportunity cards that are in the Open pipeline stage. It won’t activate the workflows for opportunity cards that are in the Won, Lost, or Abandon pipeline stages.
Lead Value #
The Lead Value filter triggers the workflow only when an opportunity card with a specified monetary value is marked as stale. This allows you to target stale opportunities based on their deal value, helping prioritize follow-up or cleanup actions for higher- or lower-value leads.
Lost Reason #
The Lost Reason filter triggers the workflow when an opportunity card marked as Lost, with a lost reason of your choice, exceeds its set timeframe and is considered stale.
Status #
The Status filter activates the workflow when an opportunity card with a selected status (Open, Won, Lost, or Abandoned) exceeds its set timeframe and becomes stale. This filter helps ensure workflows run only for stale opportunities in the specific lifecycle stage you want to manage.
We recommend using the filters in conjunction to create a more efficient workflow. Once satisfied with your Trigger make sure to save it and add actions to fully round out your automation before publishing!
