How to Create a Smart Collection

Smart Collections enable you to automate product grouping using predefined conditions, making them ideal for dynamic categories that change frequently, such as items under a specific price range or products currently in stock. This approach ensures your store remains up to date without requiring manual adjustments.

Creating a Smart Collection #

Start by accessing the Payments tab in your account. Here you will find the Collections option within the Products dropdown. Select the “+ Create Collection” button to begin setting up your collection.

In the new view, you will first be prompted to assign a name to the collection. You can also add an image to enhance its appearance if desired. In the Collection Type section, select Smart, then specify whether products must meet all defined conditions or any of them to qualify for inclusion.

Define conditions based on product attributes such as Title, Variant Title, Price, or Inventory. Use operators like Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than / Less Than, or Contains / Does Not Contain to precisely configure each rule.

Note: Invalid or conflicting conditions (for example, “Price > 100 AND Price < 50”) are automatically prevented from being saved to ensure logical accuracy.

Next, search for and include the products to be added to the collection. Add a title and description optimized for search engines (SEO) and review the collection handle. By default, the handle automatically matches the collection name, but you can edit it as needed to improve visibility or maintain consistency across your store. Finally, click Save to add the collection to your list.

With built-in logic validation and automatic background updates, Smart Collections provide a reliable and efficient way to keep your product listings accurate and relevant. By removing the need for manual edits, they help you maintain consistency across your catalog while saving time on ongoing store management.
