Custom Objects help you manage relationships and assets that are key to your business, but go beyond the standard CRM objects. So, to make their management and understanding easier, we recommend adding widgets to your dashboard to help you visualize their development. Let’s learn how!
Prerequisites #
To access the widgets that help you visualize your custom objects, you must first create an object inside the system. To do so, head to the objects tab in your account settings and create an object. For a more in-depth explanation on creating custom objects, please check the article “How to Create an Object,” where we’ll teach you the step-by-step process.
Adding A Custom Object Widget #
Navigate to the Dashboard section and click the pencil icon to start editing.
Click Add Widget at the top right corner to open the widgets menu.
Scroll down to the Custom Objects, which will be named after what you entered in the “Custom Object (Plural)” field.
Choose the widget you need from the following options:
- Total: This shows you the total number of records entered in the system for that custom object.
- Count Over Time: This widget keeps track of the entries over time based on their creation date to showcase the creation trends over time.
- Table View: Add specific fields and filters to create a table view of all records of your custom object.
Customize filters, switch chart types, and edit the advanced settings of your widget, then click Save.
Once you’ve added the widget, you can apply a theme to customize your widget’s look.
Click Save Changes to update your dashboard.
We hope this helps you easily monitor and understand your custom object entries, associations, and other important data. Dashboards that include custom object widgets can be used to create reports with full functionality, including the ability to schedule future reports.
